Accountability

Accountability is being responsible for your actions or what has been intrusted to you. The ability to do so usually means you are reliable and one would count on you to "handle your business". When being accountable you must realize that your actions will reflect the outcome. When leading or influencing a certain situation, whether or not you succeed at what you set out to do, the deciding factor is your leadership. All the blame or praise will eventually come your way because you were the one that had the most control of that moment. When you accept the ownership of it all, then you have been accountable. It may be hard to accept responsibility for downfalls and various moments of failure but being accountable not only shows that your the kind of person to own up to your negatives but also shows that you are a respectable person. Placing blame or not owning up to what your responsible for is just a way to "save face" or escape potential criticism. Suprisingly, being accountable for your actions can help you grow into a more upstanding person. It shows that no matter the outcome, you did your best, and that you fully accept responsibility for the steps taken to get there.
