Faith

For many people, when they hear the word faith, they think of a more religious definition. The idea of faith is believing in someone or something without logical evidence for doing so. This can be tricky because your instincts tell you to only trust what can be proven to be true. Faith is like a gamble almost. For example, lets say your car breaks down on the side of the road. Your stranded and decide to hitchhike (lets just assume you dont have a cellular device to call for help). A man stops in an old rusty pick-up truck and attempts to help you. Using the common sense you probably have you decline his offer. Before leaving, he asks one more time but he asks you to "trust" him. Here is when you have to figure out if you want to have faith in his claim to guide you to where you would like to go. You cant prove whether he's honest because you cant read minds so this is where having faith comes into play. Its more of a "gut feeling" than a thinking kind of thing. With that being said, the best thing you can do is try to gauge if the risk is worth the possible reward and roll the dice. You may not be able to know the outcome but if you analyze the possibilities well enough, having faith in something without proof of a specific outcome can become a much less daunting task than how it may initially present itself to be.
